Saint Robert, abbot of Newminster
Saint Robert was an English abbot in the 12th century and one of the founders of the Cistercian monastery at Newminster in Northumberland. Known for his piety, he promoted monastic reform and led his community in a spirit of humility and prayer. Robert was deeply respected for his wisdom and charitable care for the poor. His reputation for holiness spread widely even during his lifetime.
