Saint Emily de Vialar

St. Emily de Vialar (1797-1856) was a French Roman Catholic nun who founded the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition. Born in Gaillac, France, she dedicated her life to serving the poor and sick, and establishing schools and orphanages throughout the Mediterranean region. Recognized for her tireless humanitarian work, she was canonized in 1982 by Pope John Paul II. St. Emily de Vialar is the patron saint of teachers and those who work with the poor and marginalized.
