Saint Nathaniel, apostle
Saint Nathaniel, also known as Bartholomew, was one of the Twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus. He is mentioned in the Gospel of John as a close friend of Philip, who introduced him to the Lord. According to tradition, Nathaniel preached the Gospel in Asia Minor and may have suffered martyrdom for his faith. His feast day is celebrated on August 24th. He is venerated for his honesty and purity of heart.
