St. Jeanne Antide Thouret, Virgin, Foundress of the Sisters of Charity
St. Jeanne Antide Thouret (1765-1826) was a French Roman Catholic saint and the foundress of the Sisters of Charity. Born in Sancy, France, she dedicated her life to serving the poor and sick. After joining the Daughters of Charity, she established her own congregation, the Sisters of Charity, which grew to serve in many countries. Canonized in 1934, St. Jeanne Antide is venerated for her compassionate service and commitment to the less fortunate. She is the patron saint of the Sisters of Charity and of those who work in social services.
