Sts. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, disciples of the Lord
Sts. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus were two of Jesus' secret disciples who cared for his body after the crucifixion. Joseph of Arimathea was a wealthy and influential member of the Sanhedrin, while Nicodemus was a Pharisee and member of the same council. After Jesus' death, they boldly asked Pontius Pilate for the body and laid it in Joseph's tomb. The Church venerates them for their courage and devotion in honoring Christ's remains.
