st. Marinus, hermit
St. Marinus was a 5th-century hermit who lived in the Italian region of Rimini. He was known for his piety, asceticism, and healing miracles. Marinus withdrew from the world to live in solitude, dedicating his life to prayer and contemplation. He became revered for his spiritual wisdom and ability to cure the sick. After his death, a church was built on the site of his hermitage, and Marinus was honored as a saint. He is the patron saint of Rimini and is invoked for protection against storms and lightning.
