Saint Paul Chong Hasang, Korean martyr

Saint Paul Chong Hasang was a lay leader and catechist in Korea. He worked tirelessly to spread Christianity and to support the early Catholic community under severe persecution. He appealed to the Korean government for religious freedom and encouraged missionaries to enter the country. He was martyred in 1839 and is honored among the Korean Martyrs.
