Albert the Great
St. Albert the Great was a prominent Catholic philosopher, theologian, and scientist of the Middle Ages. Born around 1200 in Lauingen, Germany, he joined the Dominican Order and became a renowned lecturer and writer. As Bishop of Regensburg, he was a respected churchman and administrator. Albert made important contributions to the study of natural sciences, including botany, zoology, and chemistry. He is regarded as one of the greatest thinkers of the 13th century and was named a Doctor of the Church in 1931. St. Albert is the patron saint of natural scientists and is venerated for his wisdom, learning, and devotion to the Catholic faith.
