Saint Arnold, bishop of Soissons
Saint Arnold, bishop of Soissons, was born around 1040 in Belgium and became a Benedictine monk. He was later appointed abbot of Oudenburg Abbey and eventually became bishop of Soissons. He is best known as the patron saint of brewers and is credited with encouraging people to drink beer instead of unsafe water, helping prevent sickness. Arnold is remembered for his humility, charity, and care for the poor.
